Salida Steamplant Theater

This unique renovation project has included four phases of State Historical Society funded upgrades.  The Steam Plant has become the cornerstone of Salida’s lower downtown revival.  The renovation work turned this 100 year old utility structure into a 220 seat theater.  Phase One was a bid project and Phases Two and Three were negotiated with a very satisfied owner.  Phase Four of the several-year historic Steam Plant renovation included a new commercial kitchen and ballroom in the existing building, an attractive new 2,342 square foot structure with meeting rooms, an addition to the backstage area and a cobbled plaza area on the river walk.  This complicated project had a very tight budget and was successfully completed ahead of schedule, through the cooperative efforts of the design and construction team.
